The Hamblen County Highway/Sanitation Department is seeking applicants to fill an open Mechanic position.

This is skilled mechanical work performing activities associated with the repair, routine maintenance and diagnoses of vehicle components and/or equipment malfunctions for a variety of fleet vehicles and machinery used primarily for highway operations and sanitation activities.

Job-related duties require thorough knowledge and considerable experience in vehicle repair and maintenance for both diesel and gas engines, safety inspections, hydraulics, welding, air conditioning repair, and metal fabrication.

This position requires a minimum of a “Class B” Commercial Driver’s License.

All positions are full-time (40 hours) with benefits.
