Cherokee Park Maintenance Worker

Full-Time | 40 Hours per week | Benefits Included

Hamblen County Government is currently accepting applications for a Cherokee Park Maintenance Worker. This position involves semi-skilled to skilled work in the construction, repair, and general maintenance of county-owned park facilities, grounds, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Mowing, weed eating, and general groundskeeping
  • Collecting trash and debris from public areas
  • Preventative maintenance of park facilities, machinery, and equipment
  • Light maintenance duties including minor plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Use and maintenance of tools, machinery, and power equipment
  • Occasional administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, providing tours, and assisting the public
  • General knowledge of safe operation and use of machinery, tools, and power equipment
  • Familiarity with materials such as paint, pesticides, fertilizers, grass seed, and cleaning products
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in both indoor and outdoor environments

Work Environment:

  • Subject to varying weather conditions
  • Physically demanding work that requires lifting, bending, and prolonged outdoor activity

Starting Pay: $16.50/hour
