Special Called Organizational Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the Hamblen County Legislative Body will hold a Special Called Organizational Meeting at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in the Large Courtroom of the Hamblen County Courthouse, located at 511 West Second North Street, Morristown, Tennessee 37814.

This meeting will be open to the public and is being held as the first meeting of the newly elected Hamblen County Legislative Body following the August 2026 County General Election. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct the organizational business of the County Commission, including:

  • Election of the Vice Chairman of the Hamblen County Legislative Body;
  • Election of the Chairman of the Hamblen County Legislative Body;
  • Setting the Chairman’s salary; and
  • Establishing the regular meeting times for County Commission committees.
