The Election Commissioners are appointed by the State Election Commission upon the recommendation of the local representative (TN Senator or Representative) and the local parties. The Election Commissioners, in turn, appoint the local Administrator of Elections.

The Election Commission Office serves the voting public and candidates in all things pertaining to an election: Local, State and Federal. The Election Commission Office is responsible for filing and maintaining all voter registration records for Hamblen County and Morristown.

December 24, 2018 – First day for a candidate to pick up Qualifying Petition
February 6, 2019 – First day to request an absentee ballot for the City Election
February 21, 2019 – Qualifying Deadline for candidates for the City Election
April 8, 2019 – Last day to register to vote for the May 7, 2019 City Election
April 17, 2019 – Early Voting begins
April 30, 2019 – Last day to request an absentee ballot for the May 7, 2019 City Election
May 2, 2019 – Early Voting Ends
May 7, 2019 – Election Day

Early voting for the May City Election begins April 17, 2019 and ends May 2, 2019.  It is held in the Election Commission office located at the Hamblen County Courthouse at 511 W. 2nd North Street, Morristown, Tennessee.  Early voting hours to be determined.  For more information call 423-586-7169.
